AN EASTERN Brown snake is still hiding inside a Cunningham St garden.

The snake was spotted on the main street near Dick Smith Electronics at about 12.30pm.

It entered the drainage system in the garden outside the store.

Chris Hanna from Queensland Wildlife Conservation Service said locals walking by should be aware there was a snake nearby.

"Safety is a priority for us," Mr Hanna said.

If you spot the snake or any other in the area, call the QWCS on 0468 437 771.
