Accused murderer and arsonist remanded

UPDATE: The man accused of murdering Dalby father Mark Wilkes has been remanded in custody.

Dalby local Jason William Binney, 43, did not appear before the Dalby Magistrates Court this morning where he was charged with one count of murder, arson and burglary.

He was remanded in custody until May.

EARLIER: A man will face court today charged with the murder of Dalby father-of-three Mark Wilkes.

Police charged the 43-year-old Dalby man with murder late Friday afternoon after a 16-day investigation into Mr Wilkes' death.

Mr Wilkes was found dead inside an Edward St, Dalby, home after a fire on January 20.

Dalby detectives laid charges against the 43-year-old man who was taken into custody on Friday night.

He is due to face court this morning on one count each of murder, burglary and arson.
