One example of a Queensland story is Joseph Leo Fisher who was 16 years old when stationed in Jerusalem during WWI.

Mr Fisher's granddaughter Diane has a few of the original pages of his diary, in which he tells of the wonders of Jerusalem, detailing the artwork, monuments and noting the religious symbolism within the city.

When Joseph came back from war, he set up a convenience store called 'Noah's Ark' in Brisbane - its name relating to the variety of goods the store sold.
