Australian Reining Breeders Classic wraps up
ONE of the country's premier horse events came to a close in Dalby last weekend, with the curtain falling on another Australian Reining Breeders Classic.
Organiser Gita Thomas said the fourth instalment of the annual event might have been the best one yet.
"It was a resounding success, to have the five different disciplines for the first time at the ARBC worked really well,” Mrs Thomas said.
"The Friday night feature event had a massive crowd at the showgrounds, so we'll be looking to make that bigger next year.”
Riders came from all over Australia to compete in the ARBC, with one of the key reasons being the quality surface at the indoor arena at the Dalby Showgrounds.
"Errol (Thomas) made the decision to re-surface the arena two weeks before the event, so it's probably the best it's ever been and everyone was really happy with it,” Mrs Thomas said.
She was full of thanks for the local businesses which continually support the ARBC because, without them, the event wouldn't be able to exist.
"What I loved about the ARBC was the amount of local support we received.
"Kobbers Motor Inn, Dalby Gravel and Soil, Simplicity, Thomas Manufacturing, Nuts, Bolts and Fasteners, Total Steel, Leader Products and Dalby General Steel were all fantastic to us,” Mrs Thomas said.
The ARBC ended with a presentation dinner on Saturday night, with the major winners receiving big cheques and a trophy.
