Awards ceremony recognises successes
STUDENTS from Dalby State School had their successes acknowledged on Thursday morning, December 6.
The school's annual awards ceremony celebrates students' achievements across academic, artistic and sporting areas.
Principal Mona Anau said that, as well as students in Years 1 to 6, Preps were also included in the awards.
"It's something that we've been doing for a few years,” Ms Anau said.
The school hall was chock-full of parents and friends, supporting the students as they received their awards.
"It was just a lovely day for our award recipients and to see so many parents attend our awards ceremony,” Ms Anau said.
The awards ceremony was only the beginning of the end-of-year festivities, with the school concert taking place on Monday night, followed by the graduation on Tuesday.
Ms Anau estimated that around 60% of the students received an award on the day.
"We really encourage the students to work hard and focus on their learning goals and ensure that their marks continue to improve,” Ms Anau said.
"It's lovely to see they've achieved their goals by the end of the year.
"You've got students who are so keen and so excited to learn.”
