Baby run over by car at Teewah campsite

A BABY has been flown to Brisbane's Lady Cilento Children's Hospital after being hit by a car at a Teewah Beach campsite, north of Noosa.

It's understood the child's family had been holidaying in the area when the one-year-old boy was struck by a 4WD on an area of soft sand.

The boy was treated at the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service officers and transferred by road to a helipad located at Noosa Hospital.

The Sunshine Coast crew met the ambulance on their arrival at the helipad.

Queensland Ambulance say the boy has possible head and abdominal injuries but traveled in a stable condition with his mother at his side.
