Bikie squanders his chance at freedom

ALLEGED Bandido bikie Leonard Toalei has been refused a second shot at freedom after he broke his bail conditions hours after he was released from prison.

The 27-year-old had originally been granted bail on March 24, after almost two years on remand in maximum-security prison.

He had been arrested in Southport in June 2013, after allegedly firing a gun inside a taxi and then embarking on a series of violent assaults.

Hours after his release, Toalei allegedly took meth at his bail address in Goodna.

He was found under the influence of the drug at 4.58am the next morning when police attended the address in relation to a noise disturbance.

At Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday, Toalei stood in the dock hoping to be released on bail again.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Brad Dick said Toalei's actions had showed he was an unacceptable risk or reoffending.

His bail was denied.
