The Block teams take home record winnings

SIGNING up to back-to-back seasons of The Block looks to have paid off for Deanne and Darren Jolly.

Channel 9 has released a statement this afternoon saying tonight's The Block Triple Threat auctions will see the show's four teams take home the largest sum of money ever won on a TV program worldwide.

That means the profits from the sale of the four Triple Threat apartments in South Yarra will be more than the Fans vs Faves season, which saw four teams take home a combined $2.4 million in profits.

The Jollys were one of two teams from last year's The Block Glasshouse series to win just $10,000 in profits for three months of renovations.

The result will also be a welcomed relief for Adelaide parents Tim and Anastasia, who struggled to finish their apartment because of budget woes.

The team that earns the most profit above their apartment's reserve price will also take home the show's $100,000 grand prize.

The Block Triple Threat grand final airs tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 9.
