Kangaroo hits the beach for hop and skip with the girls
WHILE shocked swimmers exited the water at Nielson Park Beach due to a shark on Saturday, beach-goers at Archies, just 1km south, exited the water for another reason: to catch a glimpse of Bob the kangaroo.
The six-month-old joey turned plenty of heads as he bounced up the beach in a nappy with his bikini-clad baby sitters Emily Richards and Riley Castelli.
The pair was looking after Bob for his carers who had gone away for the weekend.

They had found him abandoned on their property west of Bundaberg and took him in to make sure he survived.
Saturday's hot weather forced Emily and Riley to the beach and Bob came along for the ride.
Tucked into his makeshift pouch, he relaxed under an umbrella for most of the visit until the girls took him for a skip down the beach.

One beach-goer said she had never seen anything like it as she approached for a closer for a look.
"I have seen kangaroos before but not on the beach and never in a nappy," she said.
Emily said the nappy was so Bob did not make a mess while inside.
Normally it was taken off for Bob to go outside but it was easier to leave it on at the beach.
After hopping around the sands Bob did a somersault back into his pouch ready to go home.
