UPDATE: Man who died behind Gatton shops had medical history

UPDATE 4.08PM: The man who died at the Gatton Square Plaza was a 48-year-old Lockyer Valley man, police have reported.

Gatton's sergeant Daniel Curtain said the man had a lengthy medical history and was on a lot of medication.

"Police found a male person unconscious and not breathing, and on attending the scene administered CPR," Sergeant Curtain said.

"He had a lengthy medical history."

Sergeant Curtain also confirmed the man was 48-years-old.

Police, at this stage, are treating the death as non-suspicious.

Unless asked by the coroner, it is unlikely they will be investigating the man's death.

Charter Hall, who operates the plaza, was contacted for comment, but declined to make a statement about the man's death.

UPDATE 2.30PM: Police have confirmed a man in his 50s has died at the Gatton Square plaza this afternoon.

A police officer said police performed CPR on the man but were not successful.
