Brisbane Broncos to gallop around Dalby
THE Brisbane Broncos will set the pace around the field at the Dalby Leagues Club tomorrow morning, with their annual visit a sure-fire hit for the whole family.
The team's biggest regional fan day is made possible because of Arrow Energy, and the company's vice president of external affairs, Leisa Elder, said their relationship was crucial for country towns.
"As the official energy partner of the Brisbane Broncos, Arrow provides a direct connection between the team and regional communities across Queensland,” Ms Elder said.
"Since 2012, Arrow has partnered with the Broncos, delivering educational, mentoring and coaching programs to schools in central and southern Queensland, reaching thousands of children across the state.
"Held in Dalby for the past five years, this event has grown to become the Broncos' largest regional fan day, with more than 1300 in attendance to see their favourite players.”
This year 15 players will be attending the Dalby fan day, including captain Darius Boyd, five-eighth Anthony Milford, star winger Corey Oates, workhorse Alex Glenn and flying centre James Roberts.
"Many children in regional areas never get the chance to meet their sporting heroes, so to have the Broncos coaching them with a footy clinic at the Dalby Leagues Club is a big deal,” Ms Elder added.
The team will hold a full junior football clinic and skills development for kids where they'll have the opportunity to take to the field with players.
The day will also feature a free sausage sizzle, laser skirmish course, free snow cones and face painting.
Free merchandise packs will also be given away.
The Arrow Energy-Brisbane Broncos Fan Day will be held from 9-11am.
