Bunya Hwy resurfacing nightworks

WORKS to resurface and repair the Bunya Highway at Dalby have begun.

Transport and Main Roads Regional Director Kym Murphy said Transport and Main Roads would undertake the $1.2 million pavement repairs project.

Ms Murphy said the majority of the works would take place at night between 6pm and 6am under traffic control. A 40km/h reduced speed limit will operate through the work zone and motorists should expect short delays as the works proceed.

“Residents can expect some night noise while we undertake programmed maintenance works to improve this section of the Bunya Highway,” Ms Murphy said.

“More than 4600 vehicles use this stretch daily and we are looking to improve the road surface and make it safer for these vehicles.

“We are continuously seeking ways to improve the road network, including the Bunya Highway, in order to have a smooth and safe surface for the travelling public.”

Ms Murphy said the department would do everything it could to ensure the project was delivered as quickly as possible with little impact to the community.

“Boral has been contracted to undertake these works on behalf of TMR, with the works scheduled for completion by mid-March, weather permitting,” she said.

“I wish to thank the community in advance for your patience and cooperation while these works take place.”
