Captain's knock leads Colts to win
CRICKET: A classy half- century to Colts captain Brendan Buckley and damaging bowling by the father-son duo of Barry and Brandon Seebaren handed Colts victory on Saturday.
Colts played well to defeat Sportfirst, which has now lost its past two fixtures.
Colts batted first and the top order applied pressure to the Sportfirst bowlers.
Brendon Buckley (57) was the highlight of this innings, and was well supported with another valuable performance from opener Bradley Freeman (39) and Paul Buckley (23).
Colts' innings faded towards the end, as the tail failed to wag trying to score quick runs.
Colts were all out for 173 with Scott Cosgrove's three wickets for 46 runs the best bowling performance for Sportfirst.
In reply, Sportfirst struggled to deal with the Seebaren pair, who took seven wickets between them.
Sixteen-year-old Brandon was the pick of the bowlers taking four wickets for 13 runs, outdoing his father, Barry, who took three wickets for 11.
Only AJ Nolan (24) and Russell Edwards (21) were able to get starts for Sportfirst.
They were bowled out for 118, giving Colts a 55-run victory.
