Car ploughs into Lismore shopfront
UPDATE: A CAR ploughed into the front window at Lismore Petbarn this morning when the female driver mistook the accelerator for the brake.
Lismore police sergeant Andrew Lawrence said officers were called to the pet store at Lismore Shopping Square just after 10.30am following reports a car had driven through a shop window.
When they arrived they found a silver Hyundai sedan that was driven by a woman in her late 50's, wedged into the pet store front window.
Investigations by police at the scene found that the woman had pressed the accelerator, Sgt Lawrence said, instead of the brake.
Sgt Lawrence said police cordoned off the area to allow a tow truck to remove the sedan at about 11am.
Fortunately no one was injured in the incident.
