Man hospitalised after driving onto Miles rail line

UPDATE, 4.41pm:
A MAN has been transported to Miles Hospital in a stable condition after striking his car on a railway track west of Miles on the Warrego Highway.

Queensland police have confirmed the man is in his 20s.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the scene at 1.48pm.

"We transported one male patient in a stable condition to Miles hospital just for precaution," she said.


EARLIER:
A VEHICLE has become trapped on railway tracks west of Miles this afternoon after the driver 'lost control' behind the wheel.

A Queensland Police Services spokesman confirmed emergency services were responding to the incident on the Leichhardt Highway near the Warrego Highway to assist the vehicle after the driver struck the railway line.

News believes damage has been done to the crossing signal, a lighting structure, and the crossing itself, and repairs are required to some electronics.

The driver is out of the vehicle, but his condition is unknown.
