Cartoon heroes take to the stage
HEROES and villains from some of the biggest shows and movies will be taking to the stage tomorrow in the Southern Star Dance Academy’s Annual Dance Concert.
With a theme of Cartoon Heroes, dancers from as young as 2 will showcase their hard work for 2019.
Studio manager Danielle Small said she felt this year’s theme combined the best of many different worlds.
“So we have Disney, we have Marvel and DC characters … our dance school is mostly kids under the age of 18 so most of the things we’ve chosen are, you know, their favourite things that they like to watch,” Mrs Small said.
“It’s definitely been a favourite for the kids.”
Mrs Small’s students are excited to bring their characters to the stage with their dances.
“We have things from Batman to the Incredibles to Disney princesses to Tinkerbell to Avengers, so it kind of covers all bases,” she said.
“It’ll been entertaining for the whole family.”
The concert will wrap up the 2019 dance years for Southern Star Academy students.
“I think it’s a really positive way to end an amazing year.
“The kids have been working really hard and we’re super excited to get it on stage.
“I think it really sums up how hard they’ve been working, and the parents and the family and the community will get to see that.”
Be sure not to miss this fantastic performance featuring routines about superheroes and villains, Disney characters, Hansel and Gretel, Red Riding Hood and more.
There will be two concerts on Saturday, November 30, at the Great Hall at Dalby State High School with a matinee at 11am and an evening performance at 6.30pm.
Tickets will be available at the door, $20 for adults and $15 for concession or child tickets.
