A LEAK in a waste oil tank of a Dalby business has been blamed as the cause of the oil spill into Myall Creek.

The concrete tank which is on the property of Black Toyota, on Drayton St, has been determined as the cause.

The clean-up in Myall Creek is continuing after a "large” oil spill.

Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Paul McVeigh, said the council and the business were working together to halt the oil leak.

"After an extensive inspection of the Dalby storm water pipeline network, the leak was discovered in a concrete waste oil tank on the property of Black Toyota,” Cr McVeigh said.

"Black Toyota is currently working with council to stop the leak.”
