Three youth ‘in the rough’ after golf buggy escapade

THREE children have felt the wrath of the Juvenile Justice Act after two golf buggies were stolen from Tannum Sands Caravan Park on Monday night.

The buggies were found after 10am; the first covered in a blue tarpaulin outside a Hampton Dr home at Tannum Sands.

It was in reasonable condition.

A missing windscreen was the only noticeable damage.

The second buggy was found with flat tyres and extensive damage in bushland behind Tannum Blue Estate.

Investigating police said they needed their all-terrain vehicle to reach the buggy.

The buggies were reported missing at 1.30am and had last been seen heading down Millenium Esplande towards Tannum Sands Surf Club.

Yesterday Tannum Sands Police and Gladstone Child Protection Investigation Unit dealt with three children under the Juvenile Justice Act.

Police said the buggies' owner towed one of the vehicles home yesterday and was surprised the battery had lasted.
