‘Classic June weather’ on it’s way, BOM confirms

DALBY residents enjoyed a downpour over the weekend as the area received some much needed rain.

Rosa Hoff from the Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that ‘classic June weather’ is still on it’s way.

“The Western Downs was fairly wet over the weekend, Dalby received around 36mm while surrounding areas received between 15-20mm,” she said.

“While the amount of rain seems to have come out of no where, a cold front from southern Queensland made it’s way up and moved across through the centre of the state.

“The rain will ease by the beginning of the week as the cold front moves off shore.”

Ms Huff also said once the rain eases residence can expect the dry temperatures back.

“We did experience some warmer overnight temperatures last week, which will make a return towards the middle of this week.

“The days will be around the mid 20s with minimal cloud coverage.

“At the moment there does seem to be movement from the southern states with a cold front developing so hopefully we will see that again by next weekend and get some more rain.”
