Crunch time for Tigers

Football: The Dalby Tigers Ladies team have a vitally important game this Sunday, one which will decide their season.

The Tigers are travelling to Highfields with the sides sitting in seventh and sixth respectively on the Toowoomba Football League Ladder.

A win for either side will have them on the edge of a finals birth, while the loser will most likely play in the second tier finals series, as teams five through to eight play in a knockout tournament.

The Tigers Ladies team are coming off a 1-1 draw with the higher ranked St Albans, so will go into the game with a hit of confidence.

Tigers captain Shonnie Fitzsimmons said her side recognise the significance of this weekends clash.

"Last time we played them it was nil all,” Fitzsimmons said.

"We hope to come away with a win so that we get a step closer to getting into the finals.

"Highfields has always been a competitive team and we will have to work hard to achieve a victory.”

The game is being played at 11am Sunday.

The Tigers men's side has the bye this weekend.

The team have two more games to finish the season, and will be looking to collect points in both to jump off the bottom of the ladder.
