Dalby Devils’ fundraising success
THE Dalby Devils Junior Rugby League Club sure know how to throw a fundraiser.
On Saturday night parents, older players, fans and family members dressed to the nines and headed to the Dalby Leagues Club for the Devils’ multi-draw raffle auction dinner gala.
The event also featured guest speakers Colin Scott (the first fullback to represent Queensland in State of Origin) and Robbie O’Davis (who stared in Queensland’s improbable State of Origin series win in 1995).
Fundraising co-ordinator Kylie Sankey said the event was “very profitable”.
“We were very happy with everything, the night went really well and it was a successful event for the club as far as proceeds go,” she said.
“The crowd really enjoyed themselves and the guest speakers were well accepted by the crowd and that was good.”
The auction was hosted by Brendan Gilliland and included a 2016 signed Brisbane Broncos jersey, a signed Cowboys ball, autographed Andrew McCullough boots and a ‘100 Games of Origin’ signed and framed jersey.
“The auction was well received and Brendan got the crowd really involved,” Mrs Sankey said.
“The biggest item was a State of Origin piece which went for $925.”
Funds raised on the evening are put back into the club to assist junior teams through purchasing training items, grounds upkeep, and keeping registration fees down.
The Dalby Devils Junior Rugby League Club would like to thank local businesses for their support.
