Dalby faces coldest day for the year
DALBY has faced its coldest temperature for the year as the mercury plummets below zero.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Kimba Wong said the temperature dropped to -0.4 degree on Thursday morning.
“Looks like [June 25] probably was the coldest morning of the year,” she said.
“The average minimum for June is 5.5 degrees.”
The Western Downs experienced heavy fog this morning as a result of the weather patterns.
“We certainly have a bit of fog around but it’s starting to dissipate now the sun is up. What we’ve got is quite a cool dry in the interior parts of the state at the moment.”
But temperatures will gradually begin to pick up now that the winter solstice is over.
“Tomorrow morning should be significantly warmer tomorrow on the east coast,” Ms Wong said.
“Tomorrow morning’s still a cool one, but from Sunday onwards, it should be average.”
