Dalby mother refuses roadside test
A DALBY mother ignored police's pursuit earlier this year after she refused to submit a roadside breath test.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Derek Brady told the court Amber Jane Bohan ignored police has they tried to stop her for a random licence check.
"The defendant was driving back towards her property at Colkerri Drive around 5pm when police signalled for the defendant to pull over," Sgt Brady said.
"The defendant ignored the police and continued to drive to her property.
"Police were in pursuit for close to 30 seconds before the defendant turned into her property. On arrival police exited their vehicle and approached the defendant who refused to put down her window and became belligerent."
Sgt Brady told the court that after a series of failed attempts, police took Ms Bohan into custody where they finally conducted a test which returned a negative reading to both drugs and alcohol.
Bohan was found guilty of one charge after failing to provide specimen of breath or saliva for test and one charge of obstructing and police officer.
Bohan was fined $600.
