Dalby students show flair in first Gallery 107 exhibit

OUR Lady of the Southern Cross College held the opening of its first art exhibition in Gallery 107 on Wednesday night.

The evening was well supported, as students, parents and staff gathered to witness the unveiling of some stunning pieces.

The school's visual art teacher Bronwyn McArthur said she was extremely pleased with how the evening went.

"It was hugely successful,” Mrs McArthur said.

"We had a significant crowd there which was great to see.

"It's special to have time in the gallery and to be able to showcase the artistic talents of the students.

"It's our first time in the gallery so it's great.”

An awards presentation was held at the beginning of the evening to recognise the top pieces on display.

Mrs McArthur said the exhibition was a great reward for the students' hard work.

"A lot of the work on display has come from the high school students,” she said.

"Some winners from the primary school arts show last term are also on display.

"Part of their prize was to be framed and put on display in this exhibition.

"We've had very positive comments. People are genuinely impressed with the skill and talents of the students.”

The exhibition will be open until August 11.
