BREAKING: A motorist has captured the terrifying moment they almost collided with a piece of debris that had broken free from a vehicle travelling near Toowoomba

The dashcam footage was shot on the Warrego Hwy on the western side of Oakey.

It shows a large piece of chipboard break free from a roof rack of a car travelling two vehicles ahead of the vehicle fitted with a dashcam.

The chipboard shoots up into the air before catapulting towards oncoming traffic.

The motorist in the vehicle fitted with the dashcam is forced to take evasive action to avoid colliding with the chipboard.

"It's a bird, it's a plane, it's coming for me," the video on YouTube is titled.
