BOXING: Former four-division world champion Oscar De La Hoya has been charged with two driving offences, it has been reported in USA Today.

De La Hoya, who won gold at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 and is now the chief executive officer of Golden Boy Promotions was arrested by the California Highway Patrol and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater.

De La Hoya was stopped for speeding in a Land Rover in Pasadena, according to police.

He retired after a punishing defeat to Manny Pacquiao in 2008.

De La Hoya has two prior stints in a rehabilitation facility. He entered the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage in May 2011 after acknowledging a substance abuse problem.

Then, in September 2013 he announced he was returning to rehab to address the issue.
