Deli-cious new career for new Blue Truffle owner
FOOD used to be a "just a hobby" for Ric Stumpf, but now he's turned it into his career.
A few weeks ago Ric decided to jump into the hospitality industry and has taken over the reins of Blue Truffle Gourmet Deli.
"I list food on my resume as a hobby; so I'm excited about this new venture," he said.
Ric was one of many foodies in Rockhampton that were devastated to hear former owner, Ros Bowes, was closing the business if she couldn't find someone to take over.

"I was sad when I heard that it could potentially close," Ric said.
He officially takes over the café today and is eager to get to know the customers and continue serving healthy food and sought-after coffee.
"Eight years ago you couldn't get a good coffee in Rockhampton, but so much has changed in that time; now you can get a great coffee and everything from gluten free to paleo," he said.
It's the healthy attitude towards food that Ric said he likes best about Blue Truffle.
Meanwhile, Ros said it's been hard to leave her much-loved business, but a family move to Sydney made managing the business too hard from afar.
"It's a small business and needs someone who is local and present at the café," Ros said.
The former owner was happy to hear Ric has similar ideas to her regarding food and wants to keep the café as it is.
"I want to say farewell and thank you to my customers for all the support."
