Dolphins finish season strongly

SWIMMING: Dalby Dolphins Swimming Club members finished the strong season with a celebration on Wednesday night, when all age champions and special achievers were presented with awards.

With more than 80 swimmers, ranging from five to 16 years, in the Dalby Dolphins this season, the club was certainly well represented.

President Sarah Hemmings said the club had a great season, with many swimmers selected to represent the region.

"We had an awesome season - it was a very long season, with some starting back in July and only just finished on Wednesday,” Hemmings said.

"Recreational swimmers make up the majority of our swimmers - there were about 60 in recreational this season - and the rest are our competitive swimmers.

"We had 19 swimmers who qualified for state level events this season, which was great.

"But seeing the swimmers grow in confidence as they progress each week is the best part for me,” she said.
