DPP submission to appeal Baden-Clay decision expected today
QUEENSLAND'S Director of Public Prosecutions is expected to lodge its submissions opposing wife killer Gerard Baden-Clay's conviction downgrade with the High Court of Australia today.
Baden-Clay was sentenced to life in jail for the 2012 murder of his wife Alison.
He appealed that conviction and late last year the conviction was down-graded.
The DPP's submission will argue its reasons for having the court re-instate the murder conviction.
The High Court has not yet received anything from the DPP regarding the Baden-Clay case today.
The conviction downgrade caused widespread outrage, particularly from domestic violence survivors and frontline workers. - APN ENWSDESK
