Drive safe and slow through town

THE patience of Dalby motorists will need to be high over the coming weeks, as driving conditions through town start to change.

The Warrego Highway upgrade is beginning to go into its next phase, which will have ramifications for Drayton St from Nicholson St to Winton St.

Dalby drivers have thus far been careful through the divisive upgrades, however vigilance will be needed as the conditions change.

Traffic will move to a single lane each way on the southern side of the highway adjacent to Bunnings, Southside Quality Meats, Hungry Jacks and Thomas Jack Park.

On-street parking on the southern side will be removed to accommodate the single-lane, two-way traffic flow.

Once this section of the road is complete, traffic will then be moved to the opposite side to enable construction to commence on the southern side of the highway.

A TMR spokesperson said safety was their main concern during the roadworks.

"The safety of motorists, pedestrians and road workers is our priority for all our road infrastructure projects,” the spokesman said.

"We encourage motorists and pedestrians to be patient and considerate while the works are under way. Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to remain vigilant.”
