Eels' attacking options take another blow
RUGBY LEAGUE: Parramatta have been dealt another injury blow with former NSW Origin centre Michael Jennings joining playmaker Corey Norman on the sidelines.
Jennings limped from the field after injurying his quad in the second half of the Eels' 22-16 loss to Canberra on Saturday night.
It is expected he will miss at least three matches, beginning with Friday's clash against South Sydney.
The news comes after Norman was ruled out until round 17 with a knee injury suffered last week.
Jennings is one of the Eels' key attack weapons, having scored four tries and made 10 line breaks in 11 games this year.
Parramatta officials were originally hopeful Jennings would be cleared of any serious injury but scans revealed the severity of the injury.
The news also means Jennings is no chance of regaining his place in the NSW side for the second State of Origin game.
Jennings, who scored the match-winning try for the Blues in last year's dead rubber, has been overlooked for the series opener in favour of the returning Jarryd Hayne.
