Emergency crews arrive to smoky scene in Tara

TWO Fire and Emergency crews were called to a Western Downs property at 12.45pm this afternoon to discover flames coming from the roof and ceiling of a Tara residence.

The occupants of the Adams St property were not accounted for when crews set to work to extinguish the flames but a Queensland Fire and Emergency Spokesman has since informed The Chronicle that no one was located inside the property at the time of the blaze.

"Our two crews are still on scene and the fire was contained at 1.48pm," the spokesman said.

"We are still working on dampening down hot spots at this moment in time.

"No occupants were home when the fire broke out but we have since managed to locate all family members."

Both Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance Services are also on scene supporting QFES but there are no patients in QAS care.
