'Facts' from Tugboat: Why you shouldn't go to Mooloolaba
HIGH profile Sunshine Coast resident Ashley Robinson has blasted Mooloolaba's fake pregnant tourist video scam in a video mocking the crass viral video push.
'Tugboat' Robinson has posted a video on Facebook, which has already received hundreds of views, which opens with 'bonjour' and snide remarks about the much criticised social media campaign.
"Can you believe that Mooloolaba have stooped to try and get busy at Mooloolaba,'' the rugby league boss says, donning a pink French tourist hat.
He then goes on to detail the 'facts' about what Alex - and his beloved surf club offer, including live entertainment and one of the best beach views in the world.
"There is no fiction. That's a fact."
He even throws a 'bone' to Ocean Street, Maroochydore praising the revitalisation work done by the council and the local business operators.
"Whatever you believe, don't believe what Mooloolaba is trying to do to you,'' Robinson says.
He says Alex may not be offering the lure of pregnant French tourists, but it has something based in reality.
He boasts that Melbourne Storm player Billy Slater enjoyed lunch at the club on Tuesday.
"It is not the French Riveria but it's a fact.''
"We have a beautiful beach. That's a fact."
