Bruce Hwy onramp closed for more than 12 hours

UPDATE: MORE than 12 hours after a crash involving a B-Double at North Lakes, in Brisbane's northern suburbs, left one man dead police still have the road closed,

The on ramp which services one of the area's main arterial roads - Anzac Avenue - will remain closed until police have completed their investigations.

When asked how long it would remain shut for a police spokesman asked: "how long's a piece of string?"

The on ramp only impacts southbound traffic while the majority of afternoon traffic in the area is northbound so it's thought the closure will not impact traffic flow too much.

EARLIER: A HORROR B-Double rollover at North Lakes has left the driver dead and inflicted traffic chaos on morning commuters.

Police were called to the truck crash at 2.30am, but at 7.30am the wreckage was yet to be cleared.

When police attended the scene, at the Anzac Avenue on-ramp to the Bruce Highway, they found the driver -- a 31-year-old Rothwell man -- was dead.

The on-ramp to the Bruce Highway at Anzac Avenue has closed and is expected to remain closed for several hours as police respond to the incident.

Commuters are advised to avoid the area if possible.

A Queensland Police spokesman said investigators are still at the scene and that the wreckage was in the process of being cleared.

The efforts to clear the scene are not impacting traffic flow, according to police.

Anyone with dashboard camera footage, or who saw the truck before or during the crash, are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
