Firefighters battle blaze in stocked hay shed

A SHED with 30 tonnes of dried hay stored inside in engulfed in flames with firefighters struggle to bring it under control.

A fire broke out in the three-bay shed on a property at Miles, west of Toowoomba, earlier this morning, with multiple rural fire crews on scene attempting to extinguish it.

It is understood the shed was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene, with the fire threatening to spread into nearby grassland.

Accelerants including drums of diesel are believed to have been stored in the shed.

Firefighters remain at the scene.
