Cobb+Co Museum have outdone themselves.

From now until May 27 next year, the exhibition Da Vinci Machines is in Toowoomba, on loan from the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy.

Far from a dry, text-book approach to this artist, the exhibition includes many interactive elements.

Artisans of Florence Australian tour manager Maria Teresa Rizzo said the machines in the exhibition had all been created precisely as Leonardo da Vinci's illustrations had shown, making it as close as modern society could get to having the pieces hand-made by the artist himself.

Many of the machines are interactive, allowing both adults and children alike to fully immerse themselves in this discovery of an artist and inventor well ahead of his time, who invented items such as the bicycle and scuba suit.

There are also prints of the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, The Annunciation, Lady with an Ermine, and Leonardo da Vinci's self-portrait.

For the kids, there is the Da Vinci Souvenir Guide available to purchase, which includes a scavenger hunt, puzzles, decoding activities, and much more.

Cobb+Co Museum is open daily from 9.30am to 4pm.

Entry is free for Toowoomba Regional Council residents.
