Fun on the green at Cecil Plains Golf Club

GOLFERS from around the region turned out today to have some fun on the green and show a bit of support for Cecil Plains.

The HEQ charity golf day, hosted at Cecil Plains Golf Club, meant a lot to the community.

Other than funding to support their teachers and some grants, the kindergarten raises its own funds, and today's charity golf day was their major fundraiser for the year.

The mney will help the kindergarten care for eight children in the small community.

Every year people come from places like Dalby and Toowoomba to make the day a success.

Kate Tribe, president of Little Country Kids Club kindergarten said she was touched by the support.

"It's amazing, it's touching actually. We're such a small community with a few parents and a few kids, and it's such a great turnout every year,” president Tribe said.

She said the kindergarten had a good reciprocal relationship with the Golf Club and the local Lions Club when it came to setting up events like this.

The next fundraiser will see Kids Club staff and members of the Cecil Plains Lions Club host another golf day in December.

Full results from the day will run in Tuesday's edition of The Dalby Herald.
