SOCIAL golfers hit the green at the Dalby Golf Course on Sunday, for a two-person Ambrose.

The come-and-try day meant newbies were able to turn up and take a swing, with members welcome to bring along a friend for the occasion.

Dalby Golf Course's golf professional Heath Garvey said the day was great for new people to try the game.

"We asked members to bring along someone who hasn't played in the past, just to introduce them to the game and hopefully create a bit of interest,” he said.

For the past ten years, Kev Roberts from Sandalwood Feedlot has sponsored the event, with Sunday's event attracting more people than ever, with 70 people participating.

Roberts, who brought his grandson along for the day, said he sponsored the event to get young people involved in sport.

"Sandalwood is a part of the community so that's why we do sponsorships like this.”
