Get a splash of colour in your life tomorrow

IF YOU have a burning desire to be smothered in paint while having a blast with your friends, then Dalby South State School is the place to be tomorrow.

The school will host its inaugural colour run, with students, siblings, parents and neighbours all encouraged to get in on the action.

The event was originally scheduled to be held on October 21, but due to wet whether had to be postponed.

Teacher aide Jen Tunley is the chief organiser of the event and anticipates a massive day.

"It's the first colour run we've ever held... it's to promote kids exercising and having fun,” Mrs Tunley said.

Dalby South State School is upgrading appliances within the facility, and money raised from today's event will go towards helping cover the maintenance costs, she said.

For this reason the school community is hoping for a good turn-out.

"We're replacing air conditioners at the moment and upgrading our WiFi and touch screen TVs in the classrooms,” she said.

"So we're encouraging everyone to get involved, it's just $5 per person.”

The event won't feature market stalls as planned initially so it doesn't take away from other community events on at this time of year.

The event will run from 1.30-3pm to at the school grounds.
