Help stop the murders; sign our petition

SINCE we launched our Terror At Home campaign four weeks ago, at least a dozen more women and one man have been murdered across Australia - all believed to be by men known to them.

That's an average of more than three people dead for every one of those weeks.

Women, men and children will continue to die at an alarming rate until we as a community say we will no longer accept this happening behind closed doors, and until governments make some serious policy changes that will genuinely save lives.

Queensland has a shocking Easter road toll this year, so what happens? Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk calls an immediate road safety forum.

>>SIGN THE PETITION TO HELP END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A few young men lose their lives in highly publicised one-punch attacks, and what happens? A torrent of law changes and nightlife safety strategies occur in several states.

But two people a week - predominantly women - die in their own homes or in places they should feel safe, and what happens? Our governments call for taskforces, appoint oversight committees, create new ministerial roles, and generally dither and publicly wring their hands until the public interest dies down - until the next murder that shocks our nation, when we go through the same process all over again.

Not this time. You can help us make a difference.

If you haven't already, support our campaign. When we hand our petition to your leaders soon, make sure your name is on it.
