Honour our war heroes this Anzac Day
THE Western Downs will honour Anzac Day in a variety of events tomorrow morning.
Two First World War soldiers laid to rest in unknown locations in the Dalby Monumental Cemetery will be honoured at a special unveiling ceremony at 8am.
Residents and visitors are welcome to join Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Ray Brown in paying their respects to Corporal W.J. Goodspeed and Sergeant N. Howarth.
Cr Brown said this year's regional Anzac Day services and events would be a time for the community to honour Australian men and women who have served, continue to serve, or sacrificed their lives.
"This Anzac Day, I encourage visitors, local residents and community groups to come together to attend and take part in Anzac Day services ... to pay their respects and show their appreciation for the service and sacrifice their fellow Australians have made," he said.
