Sunshine Coast Daily journalist Lucy Cantori, who is on the scene with photographer John McCutcheon, said two have been freed with two more still to go.

Clayton's Towing reports the horse truck rolled about 1km south of  the Bells Creek Road.

A Sunshine Coast Daily journalist on the scene said Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are currently trying to cut the roof off the truck.

A vet has also arrived. The horses are still trapped inside but are awake.

It is understood that the horse float is owned by prominent horse trainer Tony Gollan.

They were travelling up from Brisbane for the races.

The names of the four Gollan Racing horses are Jetsonic, Fresnapol, Whiskey Allround and Casual Choice.

All have been scratched from listed races at Corbould Park this afternoon.

The Queensland Ambulance Service is also treating two people on scene for minor injuries.

One of the passengers said: "I don't know what happened, one minute we were on the road the next minute there's a million trees coming through the windscreen."

Traffic northbound is down to one lane.
