FACEBOOK knows more about you than you could imagine.

But follow our simple instructions and you can find out what it's keeping tabs on.

It knows your income, the type of holiday you like and how old your car is, by joining the dots and making some generalised assumptions based on your profile, pictures, likes and friends.

It's pretty simple. If you've entered information into the social network, it's there to stay.

But if you really fancy freaking yourself out, you can now see exactly what information about you it's selling to companies, so they can target you with adverts.

And a quick browse also reveals which companies Facebook is handing your contact information over to.

So, want to find out who has your details?

Simply head to "Settings", and click "Download a copy of your Facebook data".

You will then be sent an email which you can download as a ".zip file".

This will provide you with documents including every message you have ever sent, places you've checked in and contact information.

When clicking on the ads section, the Sun Online was shocked to learn that an airline company had access to Facebook users' contact information along with Amazon, cheap flights companies, Uber and Spotify.

The reason why Facebook stores this information is because it makes it money by promising big companies that it can advertise to specific types of people.

That's why you get targeted adverts based on things you have liked and your gender or age.
