Trbojevic delivers boost for Roos, fans
JAKE Trbojevic was a notable onlooker at Kangaroos training and he reassured Manly fans he would definitely be back for round one next year.
The young prop tore his pectoral muscle against England in the World Cup opener, but was glad he could catch up with a few of his Aussie teammates while they were on the northern beaches for the week.
"It's disappointing I can't be out there, but that's footy - it happens to everyone,'' Trbojevic told The Saturday Telegraph.
"My arm comes out of this sling on November 29, I'll start physio and rehab here at Manly and will definitely be ready for round one.
"You get nervous when people talk about the pec being a long-term injury, but it gave me a lift when they told me I'd be back for round one.''
Trbojevic made the trek to Canberra last week to see younger brother Tom's Kangaroos debut, and enjoyed entertaining props Aaron Woods and David Klemmer at his home during the week.
Another bonus of being injured at this time of year, said Trbojevic, was missing the "Friday flog sessions'' with the Sea Eagles, who took to the training paddock not long after the Kangaroos completed their captain's run ahead of Saturday's Cup clash with Lebanon.
"I'm sure the boys will be getting touched up this arvo, so I'm glad I'm missing that,'' Trbojevic said.
