Jandowae pig races did not disapp-oink

WHEN Adrian and Steph Foster pulled their caravan up at the showgrounds in Jandowae after a long journey up all the way from Tasmania, they had no idea they’d be caught up in one of the town’s favourite events: the Jandowae Pig Races.

The event served as a fundraiser for the Jandowae Timbertown Festival in June 2020, with 50 per cent of all winnings set aside for the festival.

Punters put their best bets against the group of pigs, provided by Noah’s Thoroughbred Racing Pigs.

But if racing pigs weren’t enough, a “lolly drop” delighted the kids at the event as they scoured the racetrack for lollies dropped from a helicopter shortly after race one.

Live music was provided by Lisa Sutton, interrupted only by MC and pig race commentator, Trent Kiley.
