A nineteen year old Japanese student has been airlifted by the Brisbane RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after she nearly drowned at Tangalooma Island Resort earlier this morning.

Japanese student, 19, airlifted from Moreton Island

A 19-year-old Japanese student was airlifted off Moreton Island after she nearly near Tangalooma Resort earlier this morning. 

The RACQ LifeFlight chopper was sent to the Island about 10.45am and airlifted the woman to Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital in a stable condition.

QGAir airlifted a second patient who was also reported to have nearly drowned.
