KAOS is back for its 21st year
FOR 21 years, Kids Art On Show has been helping young artists from Stuart Street Kindy and Dalby Daycare to express themselves and tell stories through their creations.
Director of Dalby Daycare Thushari Lammas said KAOS is one of the main fundraising events for the daycare and kindy.
"Originally is was designed to promote children's creative abilities and to celebrate children's art,” Mrs Lammas said.
Mrs Lammas said the art children created was their ideas coming to life.
"Also having ownership of what they're going to do... what medium they're going to use to create their art work masterpiece,” she said.
"They're in charge of that project, and it is a project for some children because they don't just do it all in one sitting either.
"They might do some today and when it dries they might add to it with another medium so there are some children in our group... they have taken about two or three days to actually finish their piece of artwork.”
As in previous years the children's artwork will be displayed at Gallery107, sharing the space with professional artists.
A grant from Arrow Energy has allowed organisers to secure Lucia Masciullo, an illustrator of picture books, as a guest speaker for the opening night of KAOS.
The KAOS exhibition will be on show at Gallery 107 from next week with an official opening night on Friday, September 13.
Drinks and nibbles will be available on the night and there will be actions and raffles to continue fundraising for Stuart Street Kindy and Dalby Daycare.
Tickets for the opening night are available from trybooking.com.
