Kids fighting in backseat cause mum to crash car in Dalby

TWO kids will likely never fight in front of their mother again after they allegedly distracted her into crashing her car, causing a pile-up on a Dalby road.

Dalby police acting officer-in-charge sergeant Tony Logue said the woman behind the wheel told police her children were fighting in the back seat, and she became distracted before driving into the back of another car.

Police attended the crash on Dalby-Jandowae Road at 2.15pm on Saturday.

Officers allege a car had stopped at Volker Street, intending to turn right after giving way to a vehicle driving in the opposite direction.

The mother in the second vehicle has driven up behind the car and allegedly failed to stop because of a distraction, and crashed into the rear of the car.

The driver of the second vehicle allegedly told police she did not see the car in front because she was looking in her rear-vision mirror and talking to her children who were arguing.

The airbags were deployed in the second vehicle, and only minor injuries were sustained.

Sgt Logue said police were still investigating the crash.
