Lightning strike halts Sunshine Coast train services

A LIGHTNING strike has caused morning commuter chaos on the Sunshine Coast.

Queensland Rail confirmed trains have been suspended in both directions between Caboolture and Nambour stations due to a signal fault caused by an earlier lightning strike at Palmwoods.

Alternative transport is being arranged but Translink this morning informed customers to expect delays up to 60 minutes.

Technicians are currently on site working to fix the problem.

Translink say alternative transport is being arranged to transport customers.
