Luke and Cody prove they can design gardens too

THE first week of garden makeovers proved too much for some of the House Rules teams this week.

Dalby brothers Luke and Cody thrived under the pressure, though, creating an elegant front yard for Brooke and Michelle's heritage Adelaide home.

"You had me at the front fence" judge Wendy Moore said.

"What a beautiful, elegant choice (with the picket fence)."

The judges also praised the twins for the pop of colour on the pink cubby house they built for Brooke and Michelle's children.

Young parents Claire and Hagan didn't have as much success in the backyard.

They were criticised for not placing stepping stones in their large swath of mulch and for cutting down mature trees.

Their saving graces were the entertaining area, featuring a pizza oven, and their chicken coop for keen cook Brooke.

The feedback was even worse for Fil and Joe and Brooke and Michelle, who had to work side by side in Claire and Hagan's narrow backyard.

They were slammed by the judges for not working together on back deck, which was crammed so full of outdoor furniture it was difficult to walk from the house to the rest of the backyard.

On Sunday the exterior renovations continue in Dalby at Luke and Cody's house and in Melbourne at Fil and Joe's house.
